Drake Announces Anita Max Wynn Tour for 2025

Written by on November 25, 2024

Drake confirmed he will return to Australia in 2025 for his Anita Max Wynn Tour. This will be his first visit in eight years. The Canadian rap star casually shared the news during a livestream with gaming streamer xQc on Sunday night, November 24.

He revealed that the tour will begin on February 9 and run through early March, exciting fans who have eagerly awaited his return.

Drake named key cities like Melbourne, Sydney, and Gold Coast as potential stops. He suggested that other locations might not make the list.

He hasn’t confirmed dates or venues, but the announcement is significant for Australian fans. They last saw Drake perform during his ‘Boy Meets World Tour’ in 2017.

During the livestream, Drake revealed the tour’s name, saying, “Funny enough, it’s called the Anita Max Wynn Tour,” referencing a viral moment from his December 2023 stream.

The name Anita Max Wynn comes from a joke Drake made during his Kick stream. He introduced an alter ego based on the gambling term “I need a max win,” referring to hitting the highest payout on a slot machine.

This playful reference quickly became an internet sensation, sparking memes and TikToks. Now, Drake has come full circle by using it as the title for his 2025 Australian tour.

The tour’s announcement timing is interesting as it coincides with Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime show on February 9. The two artists have feuded publicly, exchanging diss tracks like Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us‘ and Drake’s ‘Push Ups.’

In addition to the tour news, Drake updated fans on his upcoming album with PARTYNEXTDOOR. He shared that it’s 75% complete and sounds incredible.

The duo first announced the album in August during a Toronto performance.
