Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido, known as David Adeleke, is excited to announce his first single of 2024, titled ‘Awuke.‘ The track features YG Marley, the grandson of the legendary Bob Marley.
After releasing his fourth studio album, Timeless, in March 2023, Davido has not dropped any solo songs but has been active with collaborations.
He has collaborated on popular remixes like ‘Twe Twe’ with Kizz Daniel and ‘Ogechi’ with Boypee, Hyce, and Brown Joel. Now, he’s ready to return to solo music.
In a recent update, Davido announced that ‘Awuke’ features an upbeat Amapiano style, highlighting a shift in direction, especially considering YG Marley’s reggae background. He will release the song on Thursday, October 31, 2024.
He posted the news on social media along with a link for fans to pre-save the track, ensuring they can listen to it as soon as it’s available.
