Duke of Shomolu Productions, is set to push artistic boundaries by venturing into the realm of romance. The theatrical play producing outfit, under the chairmanship of Joseph Edgar, recently announced its upcoming production titled ‘Anonymous Nipples – a trail of choices.’ Scheduled to take place on August 26 and 27 at the Agip Recital Hall of the Muson Center in Lagos, the play promises to tackle taboo subjects that are often whispered about behind closed doors.

Written and directed by the esteemed theatre director, William Benson, ‘Anonymous Nipples’ delves into delicate topics such as sex, incest, love, pain, fidelity, and pleasure. This thought-provoking play aims to emphasize the importance of communication in maintaining healthy adult relationships. Edgar emphasizes the need to spark open conversations on subjects that have become increasingly critical in today’s society, amidst rising divorce rates and relationship dislocations.

‘Anonymous Nipples’ promises a unique theatrical experience, presenting two distinct plays within one feature. Mr. Benson will deliver ‘A Trail of Choices’ to the audience as a softer, more romantic offering, while the following day, the bolder and resilient audience will witness the stark naked reality of ‘Anonymous Nipples.’ These plays draw inspiration from two captivating books authored by investment bankers Kai Orga and Joseph Edgar, who approach the themes addressed in their works from contrasting perspectives.

The audience can expect professionally choreographed dance sequences that will engage and thrill, adding warmth and romance to the theatrical experience. Simultaneously, ‘Anonymous Nipples’ dares to tackle the profound and sensitive themes of sex and sexuality with utmost responsibility and depth.

Over the years, Duke of Shomolu Productions has earned acclaim for its historical plays, including ‘Emir Sanusi II,’ which shed light on the life of the 14th Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi. Other notable productions include ‘Awo,’ which focused on Chief Obafemi Awolowo, the late Premier of the Western Region, and ‘Zik,’ a play that celebrated the life of Chief Nnamdi Azikiwe, former President of Nigeria. ‘Sardauna’ depicted the remarkable life of Sir Ahmadu Bello, the late Premier of Northern Nigeria and Sardauna of Sokoto.

As ‘Anonymous Nipples’ prepares to take the stage, theater enthusiasts and the general public can anticipate a thought-provoking, visually stunning, and emotionally charged experience. Duke of Shomolu Productions continues its mission of delivering impactful theatrical performances that challenge conventions, provoke discussions, and ignite the imagination of audiences.
