Emerging artist Oxlade recently found himself in the midst of controversy when his interactions with the late singer Mohbad were called into question. In a now-deleted Instagram post, Oxlade had shared a screenshot of a message from Mohbad dating back to 2018, shedding light on a previously unnoticed exchange between the two musicians.
In this message, Mohbad had lauded Oxlade’s musical talents, applauding the uniqueness of his voice and expressing genuine admiration for his work. Unfortunately, what raised eyebrows was Oxlade’s apparent lack of response to Mohbad’s heartfelt message. Adding fuel to the fire, it was discovered that Oxlade had also placed restrictions on Mohbad’s social media account.
The incident prompted astute social media users to take to various platforms, primarily micro-blogging sites, to criticize Oxlade for what they perceived as disingenuous behavior – an accusation that isn’t uncommon in an industry often characterized by superficial relationships.
In response to the growing controversy, Oxlade chose to take down the initial post from his Instagram page. Instead, he opted to share another screenshot of a chat between himself and the late Mohbad. This second exchange portrayed a markedly different tone compared to the earlier message. In the chat, both artists exchanged warm words of appreciation, celebrating each other’s achievements and expressing pride in their respective careers.
In a similar vein, Rema found himself at the center of a controversy when he chose to share a screenshot of a heartfelt message he had received from the late singer, Mohbad.
While mourning Mohbad’s untimely passing, Rema opened up about an Instagram message he had received from Mohbad back in 2020. In this message, Mohbad expressed his deep admiration for Rema’s song, “Peace Of Mind.” However, Rema candidly admitted that he had unintentionally overlooked this message and had not responded to it at the time.
Regrettably, Rema’s realization about this unread message came only after Mohbad’s tragic demise. Rema expressed his sorrow over not having the opportunity to acknowledge or respond to Mohbad’s kind words, now recognizing that it is too late to convey his appreciation directly to the late singer.
