Reactions as Eve Esin sustains injury from Super Eagles’ match against South Africa

Nollywood actress, Eve Esin, suffered an injury while cheering for the Super Eagles during their AFCON semi-final match against South Africa.

She posted a screenshot of her injured leg while celebrating Nigeria’s victory, explaining that she got hurt while evading a penalty kick awarded to South Africa.


Although she feels pain, she expresses pride in being Nigerian and in the country’s successes amid economic challenges.

“We won!! NWABALI!!! My man of the match. Even though I sustained an injury running away from the penalty kick that was awarded to SA.
What a moment to be a Nigerian. At least this is something working for us”.

Pastor Jimmy Odukoya, a former Nollywood actor turned clergyman, joined in mocking South Africans with their hit song “Water” by Tyla.

In an attempt to console them, Pastor Jimmy created a remix of the song and dedicated it to them. He acknowledged their effort in the game but emphasized the victory of Nigerians.


While expressing empathy, he suggested that if there’s any solace for their defeat, it could be the potential to win a Grammy. Despite this, he pledged to continue praying for them.

Various celebrities, including Deyemi Okanlawon, Juliana Olayode, Omowunmi Dada, and Uche Jombo, expressed their support in the comment section.


Similarly, singer Kizz Daniel promised to fly a fan to the UK following the Super Eagles’ victory.

The fan had appealed to Kizz Daniel on Twitter, requesting to be flown to his next UK show if Nigeria won. Surprisingly, Kizz Daniel agreed to the request.


After Nigeria’s triumph, Kizz Daniel urged the fan to prepare for the UK trip by getting his visa ready.
