Ruger drops highly anticipated debut album ‘Ru The World’
Nigerian music sensation Ruger has unleashed his inaugural album, entitled ‘Ru The World’. Since making his entrance onto the music scene in 2021 with the debut EP ‘Pandemic’, Ruger has steadily carved out a niche as one of the leading figures shaping the landscape of Nigerian mainstream music.
In the lead-up to his highly anticipated debut album, Ruger gifted his fans with the chart-topping single ‘Asiwaju’, which he followed up with the enthralling tracks ‘Jonzing Boy’ and ‘Kristy’. This exceptionally talented artist, who dabbles effortlessly between music genres, officially released his debut album ‘Ru The World’ on September 1, 2023.
The album, comprising a total of 17 tracks, boasts an array of guest appearances from notable artists, including the Grammy-winning Kenyan superstar group Sauti Sol, Jamaican-British rapper Stefflon Don, Dancehall sensation Projexx, music production group Jugglerz, and singer Govanna.
‘Ru The World’ is the culmination of Ruger’s journey through two successful EPs, which not only showcased his musical range and versatility but also highlighted his songwriting prowess.
As stated by Ruger, a signee of Jonzing World, his debut album offers a medley of sounds that promise to captivate listeners and elevate their musical experience.
“It’s just every element of Ru is in this album. And you know some of the things that I’ve gone through, that I’ve put in this album, some people are actually going through it, it’s a very relatable album. It has African sauce, it has Dancehall sauce, it has R&B, it has pure reggae. Everything you want to listen to, it’s there, whatever you want just pick your poison.”
Following the album’s release, Ruger is gearing up for his inaugural tour of the United Kingdom, where he intends to dazzle fans with his captivating stage presence and a repertoire of hit singles.
