2Baba Marks 51 With New Music and Celebration
First, 2Baba marked his 51st birthday in style with the release of his new single, “Mental,” featuring Fave.
The veteran singer released the track on Friday, September 18, ahead of his birthday celebration on Saturday. According to reports, the celebration included a dinner, an album listening party and the launch of 2Baba Jollof in Victoria Island, Lagos.
The release also gave fans another opportunity to connect with one of Nigeria’s most established voices as he entered another year with fresh music.
Fola Brings R&B Energy to Island Block Party
Elsewhere, Fola took centre stage at the Island Block Party in Lekki Phase 1 on Friday, September 18.
The singer performed songs including “Lost,” “You,” “Eko,” and “B4B4” at the R&B-themed event. Kunmi also performed, while hype man Ayosantoz helped drive the live atmosphere.
Consequently, the event added another strong live-performance moment to Fola’s growing run on the Lagos entertainment circuit.
Davido Announces Major Lagos Residency
Meanwhile, Davido shifted the conversation towards December with the announcement of “Oriadè: The Residency.”
The singer will headline a three-night run at the National Theatre in Lagos from December 17 to 19, 2026. The residency will also mark the Nigerian live presentation of his latest album, Oriadé, which arrived in July.
