Well, it looks like hope is renewed for the Super Eagles of Nigeria as they prepare to begin their campaign at the 2018 Russia World Cup. The Super Eagles who has had a poor run of international friendlies in a build up to the FIFA worldcup will be facing CROATIA, ICELAND and ARGENTINA and many football pundit have ruled out any possibility for an impressive tourney for the Super Eagles.

However, this has taken a different twist following predictions by a mysterious pig in a village in England that the Super Eagles team which had never gone past the second round (the round of 16 which they reached at USA 1994, France 1998 and Brazil 2014) would make it to the semi-final.

If the prediction is anything to go by, then Nigeria would break the record of the first African country to make it to the semi-finals of the FIFA World Cup.  The only African countries that have gone past the second round are- Cameroon (Italy 1990), Senegal (Korea/Japan 2002) and Ghana (South African 2010); they all reached the quarter finals.

The Pig, named Mystic Marcus picked other countries along with Nigeria. It also selected Belgium, Argentina and Uruguay to get to the semi-finals of Russia 2018 by picking apples. Farmer and micro pig breeder-Juliette Stevens is the owner of the pig and she told Daily Mail that Mystic Marcus has a 100% winning record.

She used 32 apples with flags of the all the participating countries and Mystic Marcus was made to eat the four semi-finalists.

The 8-year-old pig was said to have also predicted Brexit.- withdrawal of the United Kingdom (UK) from the European Union (EU).
