Rick Ross’s Hurricanes memoir released on Tuesday (Sept. 3), and in support of the book (co-written by Rozay and author Neil Martinez-Belkin), the MMG boss opened up about some of his life’s wildest tales.

When the conversation came to his hospitalization in March of 2018, Ricky said that codeine abuse led to his string of seizures.

“It was the codeine,” he told People. “That mixed with the things I was drinking, the other drugs I was doing, and on top of not resting. [I don’t think] one particular thing would have killed me. But everything combined?”

Ross also attributed his disregard for his medications playing a role in the downfall of his health. “I went I don’t know how long without taking the medication to prove to myself [that] I’m stronger than these other people this shit was diagnosed for,” Rozay said. “I ended up back in the hospital in a worse condition.”

The Port of Miami 2 rapper has taken more precautions like changing his diet and getting more sleep in wake up of the health scares, which has caused him to drop 75 pounds since the incident.
