Singer, Daniel Benson better known as Buju recently opened up on the reason he had to leave Burna boy’s record label, Spaceship.

According to the singer who signed a year deal with the label, he revealed during a recent interview with HipTV that things weren’t going as he wanted during his time with the Spaceship records, hence, he refused to renew his one year contract which ended in early this year.

Buju, however, disclosed that Burna boy gave his consent on a good note before he parted ways and he even promised to make Burna boy proud even as he decided to move on with his career on his own.

“Signing with spaceship was so amazing I got like 9m streams with my remix in April “Burna heard my song ‘Lenu’ in the club and ‘vibed’ with it and signed me in 2020 but it was a year contract and I didn’t renew it.”

“I didn’t renew the contract after a year because I want to do things on my own differently. I’ve seen how it works around there and it does not necessarily flow with me.”

“Affiliation is great when it’s working for you. “I told Burna I wanted to do it on my own and I’ll make him proud and he told me to go along.”

The singer released ‘Lenu’ remix while with Burna Boy’s Spaceship record label and revealed that he got 9million streams.
