NIGERIAN ACTS GET NAACP AWARD NOMINATIONS

A major achievement for Nigerian artistes and Nigerian music as Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Omah Lay, Fireboy DML, and Tems has been nominated for the National Association for Advancement of Coloured People (NAACP) award.

Wizkid’s Essence, Tiwa Savage’s Somebody Son, Fireboy’s Peru, and Omah Lay’s Understand were all nominated in the Outstanding International Song category.
Wizkid’s Essence again got nominated in the Outstanding Music Video/Visual Album category, while Tems with her new project If Orange Was a Place was nominated in the Outstanding New Artist category.

Eyimofe (This Is My Desire) also becomes the first and only Nigerian film to be nominated at this year’s award in the Outstanding International Motion Picture category.
Other Nigerians and people of Nigerian descent who were nominated for this year’s NAACP awards, includes Yvonne Orji, Damson Idris, and Cynthia Erivo.
The award which recognizes excellence in black people across several entertainment categories around the world will be hosted by Anthony Anderson and will air live on Saturday, February 26 on BET.
