Popular Nigerian social media star VeryDarkMan (VDM) has made a dramatic plea on Instagram, asking singer Davido to release fellow artist Dammy Krane from prison.
VDM claims that Davido is behind Krane’s arrest and is urging him to reconsider and give Krane a second chance.
On August 28, 2024, VDM shared his concerns in a post that quickly grabbed the attention of many Nigerians. “David Adeleke, Davido, you’re like a brother to me.
I know you’re a good guy and not someone who oppresses others,” VDM began, appealing directly to the singer.
VDM described an encounter at a police station where he says he saw Dammy Krane in custody. He was visiting the station to thank officers when he saw a celebrity with dreadlocks in a cell.
When he asked to see the person in the cell, he was shocked to find it was Dammy Krane, whom he had not expected to see.
In his post, VDM recounted a conversation with Krane, who allegedly told him that Davido was responsible for his imprisonment.
VDM said Krane claimed Davido had put him behind bars, despite their ongoing disputes. VDM also noted that Krane had often criticized Davido publicly.
VDM then made a heartfelt plea to Davido: “I want to help Dammy Krane by sending him money for food, but more than that, I’m asking you, Davido, to release him. You’re not an oppressor, and this isn’t like you. Please, give him a second chance.”
This plea comes just weeks after Dammy Krane had accused Davido of trying to frame him and oppress him. Krane had previously stated that if anything happened to him, he would hold Davido responsible.
