Rising Afrobeats sensation Shoday has just melted hearts with the backstory behind his hit single “Queen and More”—and yes, it’s as romantic as it sounds.
In an interview, the singer revealed that the song wasn’t just a random drop but a deeply personal gift for someone special. After the success of his last single, Something Something, he felt the pressure to deliver another banger. But this time, inspiration came from love.
“My girl was celebrating her birthday, and I wanted to get her something meaningful,” he shared. “I asked my manager what I should get her, and he said, ‘Why not record a song?’ At first, I wasn’t sure, but I went with it. That same day, I recorded Queen and More.”
Turns out that special someone is Batife, and the artist isn’t shy about it anymore. “Yes, she’s the one who inspired the song. She’s my lover.”
After the song dropped, the couple shared adorable videos online, making fans gush over their chemistry and giving the track even more traction.
