Folapondis is currently one of Nigeria’s fastest-rising music stars, and his recent collaboration with Afrobeats heavyweight Kizz Daniel—released earlier this year—serves as solid proof of his growing influence
“I originally recorded Lost just vibing in the studio with my producer,” he said.
In a lively interview, Folapondis revealed how their viral hit “Lost” came to life , and surprise, it’s not their first song together.“But I didn’t finish it. I started thinking, ‘Who would sound amazing on this?’ Kizz Daniel came to mind immediately.”
He didn’t hesitate. Folapondis sent the song straight to Kizz Daniel, who didn’t just return a verse — he surprised him in the studio.
“Kizz called me and said, ‘This is fire. Send the open verse.’ He didn’t send it back, though. He told me to come to the studio. When I heard his verse in person, it blew my mind!”
The duo has more than just one hit. Folapondis confirmed they’ve recorded about 28 songs together, hinting at the possibility of a joint EP.
“We’ve been working together for a while. We’ve got a solid connection,” he said. “We’ve talked about a joint project. Let’s just say it’s in the pipeline.”
Folapondis didn’t hold back when praising Kizz Daniel either.
“One thing people don’t know about Kizz is how real he is. If he loves you, he’ll go all out to support you. When he says he’s going to do something, he gets it done. That’s the kind of person he is.”
Their latest track Lost is now streaming everywhere — from Spotify and Apple Music to Boomplay and Audiomack. Fans can’t get enough of the smooth blend of vocals and the powerful energy the two artists bring.
