Afrobeats superstar Davido shut down Nollywood actress Sarah Martins after she suggested his new restaurant campaign should have been named in honor of his wife, Chioma Adeleke.
U no get sense… No restaurant was opened.
On May 26, 2025, Martins shared an Instagram post reacting to Davido’s collaboration with a food brand. She said she had hoped the restaurant would bear Chioma’s name instead of tying it to his album.
“I honestly feel Davido’s restaurant should have been opened for Chioma or probably in her name because we’ve always known her to be a passionate, fantastic chef,” she wrote.
Davido immediately responded, clarifying that the project was not an actual restaurant but a promotional campaign for his new album, Timeless 5. He didn’t hold back:
“U no get sense… No restaurant was opened. That was a promotional campaign with @foodcourt_app for my album 5️⃣. Now take my wife’s picture off your page.”
His sharp reply quickly went viral. Fans praised him for defending Chioma and calling out what many saw as unnecessary commentary from Martins.
