Danny Welbeck has been pictured on crutches for the first time since having a second operation to repair his broken right ankle. Welbeck posted an image of himself giving a thumbs up on on Tuesday afternoon. ‘Back home,’ the 27-year-old wrote. ‘Thanks for all the love and support. No doubt I will be back stronger than ever before. Recovery grind starts now.’ Danny Welbeck posted this picture of him on crutches on Instagram on Tuesday afternoon Welbeck suffered a broken ankle in Arsenal’s game against Sporting Lisbon last week

 

The England forward is expected to miss the rest of the season with the significant injury How long Welbeck remains on the sidelines will be down to the extent of ligament damage and bruising to the bone. His importance to the team, however, was revealed after Arsenal’s 1-1 draw with Wolves on Sunday.

Bernd Leno revealed Welbeck was on FaceTime with Arsenal before they faced Wolves ‘It was very good, we wanted to win for him. We all are sorry for him for his injury, and hope he will have a good recovery and to see him on the pitch because he’s an important player for the team and also in the dressing room. ‘He looked very happy and I think he was happy to talk to us because he is still a big part of our team and we will support him to have a good time when he is injured.
