Arsene Wenger to leave Arsenal at the end of the season after 22 years

After 22 years in charge of Premier League campaigners Arsenal, Arsene Wenger has finally confirmed that he will be leaving the Gunners at the end of the season. The Frenchman has been at the North London club since 1996 and has won three Premier League titles and seven FA Cups. His side’s incredible undefeated season will remain one of the greatest achievements in Premier League history, while the Gunners managed to break Manchester United’s dominance in the late 90s and early 2000s.
Wenger has never managed to win the biggest prize in European football and came closest in 2006 when the Gunners were beaten by Barcelona in the Champions League final in Paris.
“After careful consideration and following discussions with the club, I feel it is the right time for me to step down at the end of the season. “I am grateful for having had the privilege to serve the club for so many memorable years. I managed the club with full commitment and integrity. “I want to thank the staff, the players, the directors and the fans who make this club so special. I urge our fans to stand behind the team to finish on a high.

Arsenal’s only hope of winning a title this season is in the Europa League where they will face Spanish club Atletico Madrid in the semi final.
The Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has one more year left on his current contract at the Emirates Stadium, but the Frenchman has confirmed that he will leave. This season, the former Monaco boss has been badly criticized by Arsenal fans who were livid with the Gunners’ performance in the Premier League.
