Biola Adebayo Confirms Separation from Husband, Focuses on Co-Parenting Son

Nollywood actress Biola Adebayo has confirmed she separated from her husband, Oluwaseyi Akinrinde, in April 2024. Despite their split, the couple remains committed to co-parenting their son with maturity and respect.

On Tuesday, Biola took to Instagram to wish her ex-husband a happy birthday and publicly announced their breakup. She wrote, “Happy birthday to my ex-husband and my baby daddy. I pray that grace will abound unto you… May God continue to light your path and bless you beyond your expectations.”

Biola made it clear that although their marriage ended over a year ago, they are united in raising their son peacefully. “My husband and I have been separated since April last year, but we have decided to maturely and peacefully co-parent our dear son, who means everything to us,” she said.

Speaking directly to her followers, Biola apologized to anyone disappointed by the news and asked for prayers. “I wished it worked, but it’s better to stay alive to tell the story. Please keep us in your prayers,” she added.

The actress also opened up about the emotional challenges she faced over the past year. She revealed, “While I go about making other people happy during the day, my pillow is drenched with my own tears almost every night for the past 14 months.” She said she draws strength from her faith in Christ.

Fans and fellow celebrities quickly responded with messages of support. Nollywood star Regina Chukwu commented, “Biola… it’s well,” reflecting the admiration many feel for Biola’s courage during this personal chapter.

Biola and Oluwaseyi married in April 2021 after a short courtship and welcomed their son via surrogate in April 2023.
