Written by on July 16, 2024

Burna Boy, whose real name is Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and record producer. He has achieved global fame with his award-winning music and record-breaking concerts.

Recently, Burna Boy made history by becoming the first African artist to surpass 2 billion streams in the United Kingdom.

He received a plaque during a surprise concert at Koko Camden in London, celebrating the fifth anniversary of his 2019 album ‘African Giant‘, which featured hit songs like ‘On The Low’, ‘Gbona’, and ‘Anybody’.

This milestone marks a significant moment for Burna Boy, as ‘African Giant’ was the album that solidified his superstar status after gaining international acclaim with his viral hit single ‘YE’.

Just a month ago, he received a plaque for reaching 1 billion streams after a sold-out concert at London Stadium.

Recently, Burna Boy released his first single of 2024 titled ‘Higher’, expressing gratitude for his success and celebrating with loved ones in a music video that took him back to his hometown of Port Harcourt.

With this achievement, Burna Boy continues to cement his position as one of the world’s biggest artists, pushing boundaries for African music on a global scale.
