Another massive news for the Nigerian music industry, as Nigerian singer and Warner Music artiste Ckay has recorded his first Billboard Hot 100 appearance with his song, ‘Love Nwantiti’ making a debut at number eighty on the music chart.
All of this is coming barely one week after the song charted at number twenty-three on the Official UK Top 40, with the song also becoming the number one song on Shazam’s global charts, a chart that tracks the most-searched songs in the world.
Just so you know the version of Ckay’s ‘Love Nwantiti’ which is gaining massive recognition is the one that features Axel and DJ Yo. He first released a version in 2019 which featured Joeboy and Kuami Eugene, but he has since created several remixes of the said song.
If you would recall, Wizkid’s ‘Essence’ became the most-shazamed song in the US, with the song which is presently number fourteen on the Billboard Hot 100 chart peaking at number thirteen, now Ckay’s song ‘Love Nwantiti’ now becomes the second Nigerian record to have achieved such feat.
