Court Slams VeryDarkMan with ₦200K Fine in Falana & Falz’s ₦1B Defamation Case
The Lagos High Court has ordered controversial social media activist VeryDarkMan (Martins Otse) to pay ₦200,000 in damages in the ongoing ₦1 billion defamation lawsuit filed by Femi Falana (SAN) and his son, rapper and lawyer Falz.

Bobrisky also claimed a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and his son helped him avoid prison. VeryDarkMan pointed fingers at Femi Falana and Falz, sparking backlash online.
The judge dismissed VeryDarkMan’s objection, stating it lacked merit, and adjourned the case until July 18, 2025.
The drama started in 2024 when VeryDarkMan posted a viral video accusing the Falanas of hypocrisy and fake activism. He referred to an audio clip where Bobrisky alleged that some EFCC officers accepted a ₦15 million bribe to drop money laundering charges.
Bobrisky also claimed a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and his son helped him avoid prison. VeryDarkMan pointed fingers at Femi Falana and Falz, sparking backlash online.
In response, the Falanas filed a ₦1 billion defamation suit, accusing VeryDarkMan of damaging their reputation with false claims.
The court’s decision to fine VeryDarkMan marks a small win for the Falana family, as the case continues to trend across Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok, with fans debating the high-profile fallout.
