Davido Bags Best International Act Award at the 2018 BET

 Nigerian pop star, David Adedeji Adeleke, a.k.a Davido bagged the “Best International Act Award” at the 2018 BET Awards held in Los Angeles, California on Sunday, June 25, 2018.

The BET Awards is a ceremony established by Black Entertainment Television to celebrate achievements and recognize the best in African American culture and it maintains an international category for black music from outside the United States.

Davido was nominated alongside Tiwa Savage (Nigeria), Cassper Nyovest (South Africa), Dadju (France), Fally Ipupa (Dr. Congo), J Hus (UK), Niska (France), Stefflon Don (UK) and Stormzy (UK).

In his acceptance speech, he paid tribute and sent a condolence message to Nigerian musician, Dbanj who just lost his son. At the end of his speech, he invited everyone to visit Africa.

He also announced his new upcoming album and also told American artistes to collaborate with Africans. His award was presented by Hollywood actor Omar Hardwick and actress Tika Sumpter.
