According to report, officials from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested VeryDarkMan on Friday. The agency has not disclosed the reason for his detention.
Before his arrest, VeryDarkMan shared a post announcing his plan to visit a GTBank branch in Abuja. He said he was going to report an alleged unauthorized deduction from his mother’s account. Shortly after that visit, news of his arrest began circulating online.
It’s still unclear whether EFCC picked him up inside the bank or just outside the premises.
The incident has triggered strong reactions on social media. Thousands of Nigerians, including public figures, are calling for his immediate release.
Davido also weighed in. In a post on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, he showed support for VeryDarkMan. He wrote:
“Outside all the noise it’s good to see that the good one does actually impacts lives and people actually appreciate! The support I’m seeing for VDM everywhere is encouraging, makes one want to do more for the masses. FREE MY GUY.”
As of now, the EFCC has not released any official statement or explained the allegations behind the arrest.
