In an exclusive chat with Beat 99.9 FM, the “Declan Rice” hitmaker couldn’t hide his appreciation. He described Davido as not just a superstar but a real brother who recognizes the people behind the scenes.
“Shout out to Davido; that’s my brother, you know? Two days ago, he sent ₦10 million to my girlfriend just for being a real one. She was instrumental in my journey to winning the Next Rated award at the Headies. She ran campaigns, stood by me — she deserves it, and Davido saw that.”
This generous act from Davido didn’t come out of the blue. According to Odumodublvck, the award-winning singer had prophesied his victory long before it happened.
“In 2023, Davido told me I’d win the Next Rated award. Funny thing is, I was only nominated for Rookie of the Year back then. But he believed in me. Honestly, I wasn’t even mad they didn’t nominate me that year — that was Asake’s year. I’m all about the process.”
Odumodublvck emphasized that every step of his journey has shaped him, and the victory only fueled his passion more.
“Winning didn’t change me, it just added more fire. I’m still that same guy who believes in hard work and staying real.”
