A public feud has erupted between Big Brother Naija star Laycon and DJ Neptune over their 2020 collaboration on the “Nobody” remix.
Laycon recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to accuse DJ Neptune of not honouring their agreed-upon deal, expressing frustration about the long delay: “@deejayneptune, what’s the status of our agreement and split for the ‘Nobody (Icons Remix)’? It’s been 4 years.”
In response, DJ Neptune addressed the matter on a podcast. He explained that the distribution company had initially provided advance marketing funds for the music video and needed to recoup their investment before finalizing the agreed split.
Neptune also noted that Laycon’s team had previously rejected a proposed settlement amount, leading to the current standstill.
DJ Neptune attempted to downplay the controversy, suggesting that the situation was not as severe as Laycon portrayed and was largely a result of miscommunication.
