I Don’t Feel Like Seeing My Family Anymore, I Dont Miss Them – Pellar
Popular Nigerian TikToker and online streamer, Habeeb Hamzat, widely known by his fans as Peller, has sparked emotional reactions online after revealing the deep personal burden he carries as a teenager forced into the role of family breadwinner.
In a candid conversation with fellow content creator Sandra Benede, the 19-year-old opened up about his ongoing emotional and mental struggles, disclosing that despite having living parents and older siblings, he alone shoulders the financial responsibilities of his entire family.
“I don’t like what I’m facing at this young age. I’m not even up to 20 years. It’s not fair,” Peller lamented.
He explained that the overwhelming pressure has left him feeling more like a parent than a teenager, saying he now avoids physical contact with his family, choosing instead to support them financially from a distance.
“I just send them things to make sure they’re okay. I don’t like seeing them anymore. My mentality is now higher than theirs. It feels like I’m their parent,” he said.
The social media sensation revealed the emotional toll this responsibility has taken on him, sharing that he once slept in his car overnight due to exhaustion.
“Sometimes, I feel like running away to hide somewhere in America and go offline… I’ve been meaning to do it but I don’t want them to worry.”
Despite the distance, Peller said he still communicates with his family via phone but admitted he no longer misses them, with the exception of someone he referred to as Jarvis, presumably a close companion or pet.
This rare, vulnerable insight into the life of one of Nigeria’s rising digital stars sheds light on a growing concern among Gen Z breadwinners — young individuals navigating adult responsibilities in the era of social media fame and family expectations.
