Afrobeats rising star Segun Solomon Shodade, popularly known as Shoday, finally addressed the buzz around the viral slang “So Pe Purr,” which has taken over TikTok and social media.
In a recent interview, Shoday addressed accusations that he failed to credit the original creator of the catchy phrase, which features in one of his hit songs.
“People kept dragging me,” he said. “But the truth is, this lady and I have worked on a lot together. I even compensated her for the whole thing.”
While fans quickly called him out online, Shoday clarified that most people don’t know the full story.
“I’m a private person. I don’t like putting my personal life out there,” he added.
Shoday continues to shake up the Nigerian music scene with his unique blend of Afrobeats, street vibes, and viral slang. As fans stream his music and share his lyrics, Shoday is proving he’s one of the top Afrobeats artists to watch in 2025
