I’m Continuing My Dad’s Legacy: Odumodublvck on Giving Back
Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu, known as Odumodublvck, is gaining attention for more than just his music. In a recent interview, he shared the emotional story behind his philanthropic work and the unique path that led him to the top of Nigeria’s hip-hop scene.
Inspired by His Father: A Life of Giving Back
Odumodublvck draws inspiration from his late father, who passed away in 2021. He described how his father’s generosity shaped his own commitment to helping others.
“I lost my dad in 2021, and since then, I’ve been doing everything he used to do,” he said. “In my neighborhood, he helped pay school fees for 20 people. Now, I’m helping 30.”
Some people urge him to slow down and save his money. But Odumodublvck remains firm. “They say, ‘You’re helping too many people.’ I tell them, ‘I won’t stop. I’m taking my people with me. We’re rising together.’”
Critics warn that supporting many people might slow him down. He disagrees. “They say, ‘You’ll be slow with so many people.’ I’ve proved them wrong. I’m still with my crew, and I haven’t lost momentum.”
Wearing the Crown Without Asking for It
Odumodublvck didn’t set out to lead Nigerian hip-hop. Yet, he now finds himself as one of its most recognized faces. Still, he approaches his success with humility.
“I’ve never said I’m the best. I don’t think I am,” he explained. “Music comes from God. We’re all vessels in different ways.”
He continued, “I’ve been the face of Nigerian hip-hop for a few years now. I didn’t plan it—it just happened. The crown found me. Since it’s on my head, I wear it.”
Leading by Example
Odumodublvck’s story goes beyond fame. It’s about loyalty, purpose, and lifting others. His rise shows that success doesn’t have to come at the cost of community.
As his music continues to grow in influence, so does his impact outside the studio. Whether he’s funding education or breaking new ground in hip-hop, Odumodublvck leads with heart.
