Justin Bieber’s $200M Music Catalog Deal Sparks Financial Rumors

Canadian pop star Justin Bieber reportedly sold his music catalog for $200 million in late 2022 due to mounting financial troubles, according to a new TMZ investigation.

Sources close to the situation revealed that Bieber, who once earned between $500 million and $1 billion, allegedly mismanaged much of his fortune. By 2022, insiders claimed he was on the brink of financial collapse, prompting him to sell his entire music catalog to Hipgnosis Songs Capital, a company backed by Blackstone.

TMZ reports that Bieber’s longtime manager, Scooter Braun, advised him to wait until January 2023 to complete the deal in order to get a major tax break. However, Bieber reportedly ignored the advice and closed the deal in December 2022.

At just 30 years old, Bieber became the youngest artist ever to sell his full music catalog  a move industry experts believe was driven more by financial pressure than smart business strategy.

Meanwhile, his wife, Hailey Bieber, is reportedly exploring a $1 billion sale of her skincare line, Rhode, which has made around $200 million in sales since its June 2022 launch. However, sources say the sale might hit a roadblock since the brand currently operates only online.

Bieber and his reps have stayed silent on the reports. But the news has stirred up conversations about money management in the music industry and why more stars are cashing out their music catalogs.
