Lagos Gears Up to Host AFRIMA 2025
Lagos State is poised to make headlines once again as the top contender to host the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) 2025. This move reinforces the city’s growing reputation as Africa’s cultural and entertainment capital. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has officially announced Lagos’ readiness to welcome the prestigious event. He emphasized the state’s commitment to showcasing African creativity, boosting tourism, and gaining global recognition.
The governor made this declaration during a courtesy visit from the African Union Commission and the AFRIMA International Committee at the Lagos State Government House. Notably, the official host city will be unveiled on May 13, 2025, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

“With over 1,600 nominees and 1,100 production crew members expected, the impact will be far-reaching,” Dada stated. “More importantly, the event will reach over 400 million global viewers. This puts Lagos in the global spotlight.”
