American singer-songwriter Mariah Carey has teamed up with Khalid and Kirk Franklin for a brand new Christmas song set to storm the charts this holiday season 2021. Proving once again that Christmas is the most lucrative time of the year, the Queen of Christmas has announced that the new Christmas song will be called ‘Fall in Love at Christmas’.

The track sounds like it will be a ballad, making it a change of pace for the Christmas hit-maker this year.

The new track ‘’Fall in Love At Christmas” is set to be released in just three days, on November 5, with Mariah announcing the news and sharing a short clip of the song with fans this morning.

Taking to Twitter, the chart-topper tagged her collaborators and wrote: ‘Fall in Love at Christmas … Out 11/5’.

Fall In Love At Christmas sounds far more toned-down than the absolute anthem that is All I Want For Christmas Is You, as the singer’s duet about, well, falling in love at Christmas.

Mariah’s 1994 track All I Want For Christmas Is You rockets up the charts each year (though only reached number one for the first time last year), but it remains to be seen how the newest song will fare.

Clutching onto her number one trophy, Mariah shared a video with fans, while dressed in her Christmas onesie, and said she is ‘full of gratitude’ that the first-ever Christmas track she’s penned is still loved all these years later.

The We Belong Together hitmaker, 50, said: ‘So I’m sitting here with this and it is a trophy for “All I Want for Christmas Is You” being number one in the UK chart for the very first time, thanks to you.

Mariah continued: ‘I wrote this little song – my first Christmas song I ever wrote – and I’m just so proud and thankful and full of gratitude that it’s finally number one in the UK on the main charts, the official chart.
