Nigerian rap legend MI Abaga has high praise for rising star Odumodublvck. Since bursting onto the music scene, Odumodublvck has quickly become one of Africa’s biggest rappers.
In a recent interview, MI was asked who he thinks is the hottest Nigerian rapper right now, and he chose Odumodublvck.
“The rapper that is probably top of the game… He has been such a uniting force, bringing the old school and new school together while promoting rappers from his hometown,” MI said. He added, “He is unique, different, and stands out. I have a lot of respect and love for him.”
Odumodublvck celebrated MI’s endorsement on social media, expressing his admiration for one of Nigeria’s greatest artists.
Since hitting the mainstream with his hit single “Picanto,” featuring Zlatan, Odumodublvck has become a prolific hitmaker.
In 2022, he won the Headies award for Best Rap Song with his hit “Declan Rice” and also snagged the Rookie of the Year award as one of the biggest breakout stars.
His 2023 album *Eziokwu* recently spent over 50 weeks in the top 10 on Spotify Nigeria, a record for a rap project. Odumodublvck has also received a nomination for the 2024 BET Hip Hop Awards, solidifying his status as one of Africa’s top rappers.
