Nicki Minaj Accuses Jay-Z of Owing Her Up to $200 Million in Tidal Equity Dispute
Rapper and global superstar Nicki Minaj has publicly accused fellow hip-hop mogul Jay-Z of owing her between $100 million and $200 million, claiming she was never properly compensated for her share in the streaming platform Tidal following its 2021 sale.
Taking to her official X (formerly Twitter) account on Tuesday, Minaj wrote:
“We’ve calculated about 100-200MM so far. #JayZ call me to settle this karmic debt. It’s only collecting more interest. You still in my Top 5 tho. Let’s get it nigga.”
According to Minaj, the billionaire mogul and Roc Nation founder failed to properly compensate her following Tidal’s sale in 2021, where several artists had reportedly been promised equity in the platform. Minaj has previously hinted at being shortchanged in the deal, but this is her most direct callout yet.
While Minaj emphasized that she still holds Jay-Z in high regard, the financial dispute appears far from settled. She warned that the amount owed continues to grow with accumulating “interest.”
As of now, Jay-Z has not responded to the allegations.
