Nigerian music veteran Daddy Showkey has revealed that Fuji star Alabi Pasuma singlehandedly supported his family for three years during one of the darkest periods of his life.

In a video circulating on social media, Showkey made the emotional revelation during a live performance at a celebrity event where Pasuma made a surprise appearance on stage.

Speaking to the crowd, Showkey recounted the life-changing accident he suffered in 2007, which left him hospitalized for three years. During that time, he said Pasuma was the only person from the entertainment industry who stood by him.

“You see this man, he stood by me during bad times and good times,” he said, pointing to Pasuma. “Many people didn’t see me or hear from me for years because I had an accident in 2007. I was in the hospital for three years. Pasuma was the one taking care of my family.”

The veteran singer described Pasuma as his only true friend in the industry, adding that while many others turned their backs on him, the Fuji icon stepped up without hesitation.

“I visited others after I recovered, but they didn’t even give me the chance to see them—let alone help me. I would get to their houses, and they’d say they weren’t around—even when they were inside,” he recalled.
