Popular American Actor, Luke Perry dies at 52

American actor, Luke Perry, best known for his roles in “Beverly Hills 90210” and “Riverdale,” who became a teen idol for playing Dylan McKay on the TV series Beverly Hills, 90210 from 1990 to 1995, and again from 1998 to 2000 is dead.

Luke Perry passed on Monday, 4th October, 2019 after suffering a massive stroke at  Saint Joseph Medical Center Burbank, Burbank, California, United States. He gave up the ghost at age 52.

His publicist confirmed his death in a statement.

The statement read:

“[Perry] was surrounded by his children Jack and Sophie, fiancé Wendy Madison Bauer, ex-wife Minnie Sharp, mother Ann Bennett, step-father Steve Bennett, brother Tom Perry, sister Amy Coder, and other close family and friend.

The family appreciates the outpouring of support and prayers that have been extended to Luke from around the world, and respectfully request privacy in this time of great mourning.

No further details will be released at this time.”

According to BBC, Riverdale has stopped production following news of Perry’s death.

Also speaking on his death, Riverdale’s executive producers, WBTV and the CW Network in a statement described Perry as “a beloved member of the Riverdale, Warner Bros and CW family”.

The statement read:

“Luke was everything you would hope he would be: an incredibly caring, consummate professional with a giant heart, and a true friend to all.”

“A father figure and mentor to the show’s young cast, Luke was incredibly generous, and he infused the set with love and kindness. Our thoughts are with Luke’s family during this most difficult time.”
