Nigerian filmmaker Dabby Chimere has unveiled the star-studded cast for her upcoming film “Adanne,” promising a compelling exploration of familial bonds and sisterhood.

Headlined by Lilian Afegbai from Big Brother Africa, the movie also features Big Brother Naija alum Tacha Akinde (Simply Tacha); additionally, seasoned actors Shaffy Bello, Ik Ogbonna, and Alex Ekubo are part of the cast.

Written by Francis Uzoma Disney, “Adanne” delves into the poignant tale of two sisters, Adanne and Ijeoma. It begins with Adanne making a monumental sacrifice for Ijeoma’s advancement, however, she is abandoned when Ijeoma marries into wealth. Left to fend for herself, Adanne takes up stripping as a means of survival.

Taking to Instagram, Chimere described “Adanne” as a gripping narrative that explores themes of unconditional love, heartbreaking betrayal, and unwavering loyalty.

She expressed gratitude to her talented cast and crew for their collaboration on this emotionally charged project.

Chimere’s previous directorial successes, including “Head Over Bills” and “Rush Hour,” have solidified her reputation in the Nigerian film industry.

Both films quickly ascended to Prime Video’s Top 10 Movies in Nigeria list upon their respective releases, her portfolio also includes acclaimed works such as “Enough,” “Flaws,” and “Lighthouse.”

As anticipation mounts for “Adanne,” Chimere’s latest venture promises to captivate audiences with its compelling storyline and powerful performances, shedding light on the complexities of familial relationships and the resilience of sisterhood in the face of adversity.
