Police in Romania arrested Wiz Khalifa and charged him with illegal drug possession after accusing him of smoking cannabis onstage at the “Beach, Please!” festival in Costinesti.

Romanian prosecutors accused the rapper, whose real name is Cameron Thomaz, 36, of possessing cannabis in the early hours of Sunday, July 14. Under Romanian law, authorities consider cannabis a serious drug, and if they convict Khalifa, he could face up to 10 years in prison.

Khalifa’s public persona often links him to cannabis use, and he openly discusses it in his music and interviews. Earlier this year, he mentioned casually attending his son’s parent-teacher conferences while under the influence, noting that people widely accept it nowadays.

This summer has been eventful for Khalifa, as he and his girlfriend, Aimee Aguilar, announced they are expecting a baby girl. Khalifa also has an 11-year-old son named Sebastian Taylor with his ex-girlfriend Amber Rose.
