THE GRAMMY AWARDS GETS A NEW DATE

Written by on January 20, 2022

Following the postponement of the 64th annual Grammy Awards which was initially slated for the 31st of January due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the recording academy has now issued a new date, as well as a new venue.
According to CBS, the award ceremony will now broadcast live on Sunday, April 3, from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

This will also be the first time The Grammys will be taking place in Vegas, after it was initially scheduled to take place at the Crypto.com Arena (formerly known as the Staples Center) in Los Angeles, U.S.A.
Comedian Trevor Noah will return as the host of the award ceremony, while additional details about the dates and locations of other Grammy events, including the Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony, MusiCares Person of the Year and the Pre-Grammy Gala, will be announced soon.

If you would recall, we reported that the recording academy had to postpone the ceremony when it issued a statement saying, “The health and safety of those in our music community, the live audience, and the hundreds of people who work tirelessly to produce our show remains our top priority. Given the uncertainty surrounding the Omicron variant, holding the show on January 31 simply contains too many risks.”
