In a recent interview on Afrobeats Intelligence, Tiwa Savage detailed the difficulties she faced while recording the album with a growing baby bump. The singer revealed that pregnancy affected her ability to hit certain vocal notes, prompting her to adjust the keys of several tracks to accommodate her changing voice.

“I was pregnant when I recorded R.E.D. I would be in the studio crying with my big belly. It was a struggle to record the album,” Tiwa shared. “I changed the key of some of the songs because being pregnant affected how I could hit some notes.”

The music icon also recounted her unique experience as the first artist in Mavin Records to have a baby, highlighting the supportive environment within the label. “Whenever they noticed my energy was going down, Don Jazzy would tell the team to get me my cravings, which were eggs and bread,” she said.

Tiwa Savage’s journey in the music industry began when she joined Mavin Records in 2012, a label founded by Don Jazzy. After a successful stint, she made a strategic move to Universal Music Group in 2019, further expanding her international reach.
