Usain Bolt to play at Old Trafford in June

Usain Bolt will be playing at Manchester’s Old Trafford in June 2018. The Olympic legend regarded as the fastest runner in the world, announced he was signed to a football team.

Bolt signed for a Soccer Aid charity match, Unicef Soccer Aid World XI and will captain his team in the match against England’s XI led by singer Robbie Williams.

Bolt, 31, retired from athletics in August 2017, with a remarkable win of eight Olympic gold medals and been crowned world champion 11 times.

Soccer Aid is an initiative started by Robbie Williams and fellow singer Jonathan Wilkes in 2006. The charity soccer match, played every two years, has seen the England XI dominate with four wins over Rest of the World (two).

The teams are comprised of a mix of celebrities and soccer players, with film stars, singers, television personalities, and sportsmen making up the ranks.

Gordon Ramsay, Damian Lewis, Tom Felton, Brian Lara, Woody Harrelson, Will Ferrell, Gerard Butler, Edward Norton, James McAvoy, and Sam Worthington have appeared, while soccer legends like Diego Maradona, Dunga, Ryan Giggs, Ronaldinho, and Cafu have also made their mark.

Bolt and Williams are the only two players revealed for this year’s match so far. The match will be played at Old Trafford on June 10.
