Warri Pikin Reveals Suicide Attempt While Advocating World Suicide Day

Written by on September 12, 2024

Comedian Anita Afoke Asuoha, better known as Warri Pikin, has opened up about a harrowing experience in her life. On World Suicide Prevention Day, she shared that a motivational speaker’s advice led her husband into severe debt, which nearly drove her to suicide.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Warri Pikin explained that in 2018, her husband fell into N22 million debt after investing in various ventures based on the motivational speaker’s suggestions. This overwhelming burden led her to attempt suicide on June 6, 2018.

“I tried suicide so you don’t have to,” she wrote. “Life felt unbearable, and I thought ending it was the only way out.”

She praised Irene C. Anaenye for her support during this critical time and shared photos of them together. Warri Pikin urged others facing similar struggles to seek help, emphasizing that “Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.” She reminded everyone that difficulties are only temporary and encouraged people to reach out for support.
