Written by on March 2, 2022

Veteran Nigerian filmmaker, Tunde Kelani, is set to produce a film on the life and times of late fuji icon, Sikiru Ololade Ayinde Balogun, popularly known as Ayinde Barrister.

He disclosed this new project during the grand finale of a festival organized to celebrate the life and achievements of the late musician.

Tunde Kelani said he felt it was imperative to tell the intriguing story of another great music icon that pioneered the Fuji genre in Nigeria and the forthcoming project, unofficially titled ‘Sikiru Ayinde Barrister’ would help spotlight the late musician’s contribution to the growth of Fuji music.

He said, “My decision is irreversible. Barrister deserves to be so immortalized because of his numerous works which still set the pace for living Fuji musicians in the market.”

Speaking more on the project, Tunde Kelani said the idea was conceived about four years ago, but he decided to release that of Ayinla Omowura first. He also promised to unveil some of the cast of the movie in no distant time, as the movie will be released in 2023.

All of this is coming after the success of his last movie project, Ayinla which was produced to celebrate late Apala music maestro, Ayinla Omowura, a movie that was met with positive reviews.
