Didier Drogba debuts new Hairstyle
Former Chelsea and Cote d’Ivoire International, Didier Drogba has taken to his social media handle to show off his new bald new hairstyle.
The man who was a famous beast to Premier League defenders as he gave them a hard time in every encounter for nearly a decade has decided to shaven his hair completely.
The ex-blues talisman scored 164 goals in 381 games during his successful spell for the club while winning four Premier League titles, four FA Cups, three League Cups and one Champions League title.
But it looks as if the 39-year-old Ivorian legend decided to take the clippers to his distinctive hairstyle that served him so well in West London.
He posted a picture of his hairless dome on his personal Twitter account to his 1.42 million followers, stating: ‘Born is the new me.’
Following a short spell at Montreal Impact after departing Stamford Bridge for a second time Drogba signed for USL side Phoenix Rising — also becoming the owner of the club, making him the first player-owner in football history.
It is unsure what his team-mates will make of the look, but the Chelsea legend is following in the footsteps of other big football names by opting for a ‘number one’ all over.
David Beckham famously unveiled a trend-setting trim in 2000 when he took the clippers to his long blond locks and Freddie Ljungberg got rid of his red-dyed messy hair in favour of a buzzcut in 2002.
Didi as he is fondly called famously scored the header against Bayern Munich that pushed the match on to extra time where he crowned it up with a winning penalty strike to give Chelsea their only Uefa Champions League trophy.
The iconic striker returned later under now Manchester united boss Mourinho and clinched for the last time a Premier league trophy and the English Football league cup
Alvaro Morata, who joined Chelsea in the summer from Real Madrid, recently admitted he watches videos of Drogba in his prime to develop as a striker.
“I put it on at home so I improve with Didier,” said the Spaniard.
Fast, powerful and lethal in front of goal, Drogba was a defender’s worst nightmare because he had absolutely everything.
Drogba became renowned for his unique hairstyle during his time in the Premier League, but his locks are a thing of the past after he shaved his head.
