Jennifer Lopez Files for Divorce from Ben Affleck After Two Years of Marriage

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s marriage has come to an end. The American singer and actress has officially filed for divorce from her husband, just two years after they tied the knot.

Lopez and Affleck, who married in July 2022, have confirmed the rumors about their split. According to a report, Lopez filed for divorce in Los Angeles on August 20, 2024.

The filing lists April 26, 2024, as the date of separation. Notably, the divorce petition does not mention any prenuptial agreement.

The divorce filing coincided with the anniversary of their Georgia wedding, which followed their initial Las Vegas elopement.

The split followed speculation fueled by their separate living arrangements, Lopez’s cancelled tour, and the sale of their home. Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck first crossed paths in 2002 on the set of their film GIGLI.

At that time, Cris Judd was Lopez’s second husband after her divorce from Judd in 2003, Lopez and Affleck went public with their romance.

Both Lopez and Affleck have experienced previous marriages. Affleck, 52, married Jennifer Garner from 2005 to 2018 and has three children with her.

Lopez, who has been married thrice, first married Ojani Noa from 1997 to 1998, then Cris Judd from 2001 to 2003, and finally Marc Anthony from 2004 to 2014.

Lopez and Anthony share 14-year-old twins. Lopez’s last relationship before Affleck was with Alex Rodriguez, with whom she ended her engagement in 2021.
