Skales Addresses Wizkid Rumors: ‘I Made My Own Path’

Written by on October 28, 2024

Nigerian singer Skales has taken the opportunity to clarify misunderstandings about Wizkid’s role in his career. In a recent series of posts on X, Skales made it clear that while he appreciates support from several artists, Wizkid did not play a part in his success.

In his posts, Skales credited fellow musicians like Olamide, Timaya, Banky W, and Burna Boy for their encouragement throughout his journey. He pointed out that Banky W, who signed him to his label Empire Mates Entertainment (EME), truly believed in him during his formative years. “Put some respect on my name… Banky W deserves the praise and respect for believing in teenagers,” he asserted.

While he acknowledged the collaborative spirit he shares with Burna Boy, Skales firmly stated, “I love Burna, but don’t say he helped me… Only my fans and God’s grace.” His message emphasized that his success is primarily due to his hard work and the support of his fans.

Skales also mentioned his intention to focus on his music, steering clear of any negative energy or distractions. This clarification comes at a time when there has been speculation about the relationship between him and Wizkid, especially considering their shared history at EME.

Both Skales and Wizkid have made significant strides in the music industry since their time together, each carving out their paths to success. Skales’ recent statements serve to remind fans and critics alike of his achievements and the people he believes truly contributed to his journey.
