Congratulations are rolling in for Adekunle Gold, who just earned a remarkable honor of a street named after him, “Adekunle Kosoko Street.” The Afro-fusion singer shared the emotional moment online, saying, The city that raised me now carries my name.”

Adekunle Gold reveals F.U.J.I album meaning

The gesture hits like a perfect harmony, celebrating years of creative evolution and musical brilliance. For Adekunle, it’s not only recognition; it’s a return to his roots a chorus of legacy and gratitude.

In an exclusive interview with MAX FM, the multi-talented artist opened up about his new album, F.U.J.I, revealing the acronym stands for Finding Uncharted Journey Inside.” He described the project as a bold experiment  blend of Fuji cadences, Afro-fusion melodies, and deep storytelling.

“The sound I make now is Fuji-inspired,” he said. “I want the world to feel the rhythm I grew up with, to understand the sound that shaped me.”

Transitioning into a more personal note, Adekunle described F.U.J.I as a heartfelt symphony. It reflects his love for his wife and daughter, his memories of lost friends, and his growth as a man and artist. Writing the album, he said, felt like a spiritual jam session raw, revealing, and redemptive.

While creating this project, I realized I’ve been doing music all my life,” he said. “So I decided to switch the tempo,  I started reading more, enrolled in acting classes, and even dived into design.”

Beyond the mic, Adekunle now channels his artistry into visuals and fashion. He designed all his album covers, his signature sunglasses lineGLAZER,’ and even his earrings.

With his seamless fusion of sound and styleAdekunle Gold continues to fine-tune Nigerian music’s evolution  proving that reinvention, like a good melody, never fades
