Written by maxfmeditor2 on March 7, 2022
David Adeleke popularly known as Davido had the 2022 edition of his London concert at the O2 Arena over the weekend. This is a well-known venue primarily used for music, concerts, or live performances with a capacity of 20,000 people. The concert has been the talk of the town, literally, and it has also been received backlash from some person.
The O2 had on their twitter page on the 3rd of March announced that Davido had officially sold out The O2. On the day of the event while the audience were running late, videos of the O2 hall started circulating to which some persons had started to mock the artiste (Davido) saying the hall was scanty and as such not sold it out also making comparisons with the other arts who have used the same venue.
However, much to their surprise, when the show fully kicked off the hall was then seen to be full and the energy from the crowd was very encouraging.
There was a host of performances from popular acts such as Teni, Reekado Banks, PheelzMrProducer, Adekunle Gold, Ckay, Skiibii, Stonebwoy, Victony and Mayorkun including Famous South African rapper, known as Focalistic.
Focalist has taken to his twitter page to thank Davido for making him the first South African artist in his time to perform at the O2 Arena London. His tweet read, “just became the first South African artist in my time to perform at the 02 Arena London. Champion Sound gave me goosebumps!! Blessings Davido, I’m inspired!! Gotta make sure I host one show here 2024!”
There are still so many reactions as regards the event and it seem as though Davido@theO2 will be the talk of the town for a while as Davido himself has taken to his Instagram to mention that he will be posting all week.
