BIG WINNERS AT THE MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS

It was a night of glitz and glamour for the American music industry as the MTV Video Music Awards took place at the Barclays Center, Brooklyn, with Doja Cat hosting the ceremony.

Justin Bieber led this year’s list of nominees with seven nods, followed by Megan Thee Stallion with six nods. Billie Eilish, BTS, Doja Cat, Drake, Giveon, Lil Nas X and Olivia Rodrigo, a first-time nominee, each earned five nominations.

The biggest win of the night, video of the year went to Lil Nas X’s “Montero (Call Me By Your Name), he also won Best Direction and Best Visual Effects, all for the same video “Montero (Call Me by Your Name).”

Justin Bieber, won both Artist of the Year and Best Pop, for his song “Peaches,” featuring Daniel Caesar and Giveon.

Olivia Rodrigo won Best New Artist, Push Performance of the Year, and Song of the Year for “Driver’s License”

Billie Eilish, won the Video for Good for her ballad “Your Power”; while BTS, won Group of the Year; and Travis Scott, won Best Hip-Hop for “Franchise” featuring Young Thug & M.I.A.

Just so you know our very own Wizkid was also a winner on the night as his collaboration with Beyonce on “Brown Skin Girl” won the Best Cinematography category.
