Chella Breaks Down His Style in Candid Yanga FM Interview
The rising artist explains his language-blended lyrics, street-shaped sound, and surprising love life revelations.
Chella walked into the Yanga FM studio with the kind of calm confidence that makes you curious before he even says a word. And once he started talking, it became clear why the streets rate him differently. His sound might confuse some people at first, but the story behind it makes everything click.

Chella opens up about his unique sound and personal journey during his Yanga FM interview with Fayfay.
During his conversation with Fayfay, Chella explained that many listeners struggle to understand his lyrics because he blends multiple languages in one track. He switches between Ebonyi, Igbo, and Tiv with ease, and he does it because it feels natural, not because he is trying to be mysterious. That mix, he said, has become part of his identity as an artist.
He also shared how his environment shaped his art. Even though his mother is deeply rooted in gospel music, Chella grew up influenced by the rougher, louder, and more colourful sound of the streets. That contrast, according to him, built the unique rhythm and bounce people now hear in his songs.
When the conversation moved to his hit single “Darling,” he cleared up a common assumption. The song was not inspired by love at all. He revealed that he wasn’t in a relationship at the time, and, surprisingly, he had never been in one before. He recently entered his first relationship, joking that it “doesn’t look good yet.” Still, he describes himself as a lover boy and hopes to get married someday.
