In 2020, singers Omah Lay and Tems faced arrest in Uganda for flouting COVID-19 protocols, leading to charges against them.

Tems recently recounted her traumatic experience in Uganda. Initially, she dismissed it as a joke when taken from her hotel, but reality hit when handed a filthy prison uniform. Fear gripped her, doubting she’d leave alive.

Her prison cell was cramped, with only blankets and tissues. For two days, she remained isolated, clueless about her fate. She pondered if there was a purpose in her imprisonment.

Strict rules governed the women’s prison. They had to kneel before officials and received food only once daily, which she rejected, surviving solely on water.

News of Rexxie’s arrest surfaces a week after his proposal to his girlfriend. Sharing photos of the joyful occasion, he announces their engagement and wedding plans, revealing the proposal occurred in Nairobi, Kenya.
